This month we’ll be buzzing with Honey Bees, swimming with Loons, and growing with Trillium Flowers.

Honey Bees

Honey bees are social insects and live together in nests or hives. The honey bee is known for the dancing movements that it performs in the hive to communicate information to its fellow bees about the location, distance, size, and quality of a particular food source in the surrounding area.

Loons

Loons are a group of aquatic birds found in many parts of North America and northern Eurasia. Loons, which are the size of a big duck or a small goose, resemble these birds in shape when swimming. The loon’s toes are also connected by webbing like a duck or goose.

Trillium Flowers

Trillium flowers are native to temperate regions of North America and Asia. Trilliums prefer shade but do enjoy a bit of sun every now and then. Typically they can grow from 1-2 feet tall. Trilliums range in colours from red, purple, pink, white, yellow, or green.
