Eucalyptus deglupta, or the Rainbow Eucalyptus Tree celebrates its own day today! The Rainbow Eucalyptus Tree gets its name from its trunk. When the brown bark sheds away, the colors underneath begin to reveal a light green color that changes to darker green to blue, purple, orange, pink and more creating the rainbow patterns! How tall can it be?
The Rainbow Eucalyptus Tree can grow up to 250 feet tall! The trunk can be up to a 6 foot diameter. They can also live to be within 50 to 150 years old!
Where can you see them?
In the United States they inhabit Hawaii, California, Texas and Florida are some places you can find this eucalyptus tree as it doesn’t like to be within cold weather. You can also find these trees in Indonesia, the Philippine Islands, Papua New Guinea, and additional locations within Asia.
Do they have leaves?
They do and their leaves can grow to be over 6 inches long and 4 inches wide!
Are they a good source for pollination?
They are as these types of eucalyptus trees flower a white flower which are healthy with nectar which is perfect for bees that pollinate (and also for bees that create honey!)
