National Bison Day
It is Bison Day!
These massive creatures are native to North America and come from Canada, the United States, and Mexico! There are even some Bison that come from Europe. These animals are very special because play a critical role in shaping grassland ecosystems.
Unfortunately, there are not as many bison in the wild as there used to be. In the 1800s there was a rampage of hunting bison which used to be a critical source for food, shelter, clothing, fuel, and more for the indigenous peoples.
