February is black history month. let’s celebrate!
We are passionate about diversifying our day to day learnings, decolonizing our bookshelves, and keeping open minds. Here are some incredible books that we’d like to showcase for Black History Month. One Love was written by Bob Marley’s daughter, Cedella Marley. It’s a song inspired board book.
Hair Love by Vashti Harrison is an ode to loving natural hair. We enjoy this book not only for everyday reading but also for Father’s Day.
Stacey’s Extraordinary Words by Stacey Abrams wrote this picture book drawn from a childhood memory of her life and a spelling bee that changed her life.
I Promise by LeBron James. A book that reminds us that the promises we make with ourselves will set us up from success and positivity that outspreads just ourselves but to our family, friends, and community.
Change Sings by Amanda Gorman, presidential inaugural poet and activist, is her debut picture book that is full of heartfelt lyrics and voices. A reminder that we can always help make a change no matter how big or small, it’s still a change.
